Research – Influencing land rights policy

Evaluations that fall within the themes of sustainable development, such as water, food security and climate, frequently examine the use of financial resources. But diplomacy is also used in these themes. This study examines the effectiveness of influencing land rights policy. This policy aims to formalise and secure land-use rights, reduce conflict and encourage investment as a prerequisite for achieving food security objectives.

This study contributes to the policy review of sustainable development. Moreover, it also enhances our understanding of the methodological challenges of studying diplomatic tensions.

Key question

To what extent have the diplomatic efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs helped to improve land rights (policy) in developing countries, and what factors serve as evidence for this?

Sub-studies

We will conduct several country studies for this study.
