Multilateral cooperation is of importance to counter international challenges such as poverty and inequality. For a medium-sized state like the Netherlands, multilateralism is important to achieve results on the priorities of the Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation policy. Therefore, the Netherlands invests in multilateral organisations. It is therefore relevant to investigate to what extent multilateral organisations are effective and efficient.
