Marjolein Jongman heads the IOB Foreign Policy cluster since August 2025. She studied Political Science (International Relations) and International Public Law at Leiden University. Marjolein worked as environmental consultant at KPMG and was adviser to the Paper and Board industry branch organization (VNP) before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001.
Marjolein worked subsequently at the Perm. Representation to the Council of Europe, TF/ICC, desk officer Burundi (DAF), the Embassy office in Juba, South Sudan, guest diplomat to the Belgian Foreign Affairs Security Department, Netherlands Representative Africa- and ACP-countries, Perm Rep EU, adviser on democratization (DSH), head of the trade and development team in Cairo and Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO) coordinator (DDE).
