Substudy – Desk review on the effectiveness of partners and funding relations
IOB has evaluated the results of the Dutch humanitarian policy for the years 2015-2021, drawing on several substudies. The underlying substudy consists of a desk review and focuses on the effectiveness of humanitarian partners and their funding relations with the Netherlands. It has looked at existing evaluations, available research and policy documents in answering the research questions.
In the framework of the research on effectiveness of partners and funding relations, IOB also commissioned field studies to be conducted in Syria, Yemen and South Sudan. These humanitarian crises have demanded much from Dutch humanitarian diplomacy and have taken up a large part of the humanitarian budget. The three case studies have been conducted by MDF and were supported by consultants from the region and countries involved.
