Substudy – Evidence and gaps surrounding SRHR interventions
The report ‘Evidence and Gaps’ shows which interventions on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) were successful and which ones were not. Based on a systematic review of 368 reviews, conducted by the Campbell Collaboration, this study identified what evidence is available for a broad range of SRHR interventions, and what this evidence tells us.
This report describes the found evidence on 14 SRHR topics, such as sexuality education, HIV stigma, access to safe abortion, and early marriage prevention, in thematic summaries. Alongside this report, the 368 identified reviews are presented in an interactive Evidence and Gap Map. In this map, one can find per type of intervention, outcome, and target group how many and which studies have been published.
With this substudy, IOB hopes to contribute to evidence-based policy making and substantiated implementation by partners, and filling existing knowledge gaps in this field. This study is part of a larger evaluation on Dutch SRHR policy from 2012 onwards.
