Trix van Mierlo conducts research on topics related to human rights and security. She has a PhD from Innsbruck University where she studied protest movements, democratisation and regime change. She has experience with field research in the Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico and Central America. She obtained an MA in Conflict Studies and Human Rights at Utrecht University.
