Trix van Mierlo has been working with IOB since 2022, in the Foreign Affairs cluster. Trix studied Liberal Arts and Sciences, majoring in International Studies, at Utrecht University where she also obtained her master’s degree in Conflict Studies and Human Rights (2017).
She was awarded a PhD by the Leopold-Franzens Universität in Innsbruck in 2022. Her research focused on civil resistance, civil society, subnational authoritarian enclaves, democratisation and human rights. She conducted field work in Mexico and the Philippines.
