Current research – Prospects partnership

In 2018 the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the Prospects partnership which brings together five humanitarian and development actors: IFC, ILO, UNHCR, UNICEF and World Bank. The aim of this partnership is to promote long-term solutions for forcibly displaced persons and their host communities in eight countries in the Middle East and North Africa and the Horn of Africa. IOB will evaluate this partnership and cover the period 2019-2024.

The evaluation will look at results and present recommendations that can be incorporated in the current phase of the partnership as well as recommendations for strategic programming and future policy development.

Central question

What results has Prospects delivered for forcibly displaced persons and their host communities and to what extent has the nexus approach as implemented by the partnership increased the (cost)-effectiveness of the programme?
