Public lunch event 8 March, Brussels, on the European Neighbourhood Policy

‘What prospects for an effective and coherent European Neighbourhood Policy; Looking back to look ahead’

On 8 March 2017, IOB and the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) organise a public lunch event: ‘What prospects for an effective and coherent European Neighbourhood Policy; Looking back to look ahead’. During this event the CEPS literature review, commissioned by IOB, will be presented and discussed.

The literature review discusses the factors provided by the literature for explaining the level of effectiveness of the ENP, such as conditionality, the interests vs values dilemma and the role of third countries, as well as aspects of conditionality, e.g. between the EU and its member states or between EU institutions. You can download the literature review here.

If you would like to attend the lunch event (13.15 – 14.30), please register via the CEPS-website.

In the morning, an expert seminar will take place (on invitation only) to discuss the findings of the study among scholars and EU policy makers.

The literature review has been conducted in the framework of the IOB policy evaluation ‘The Netherlands and the European Neighbourhood Policy’, which is to be published in the second half of 2017. More information about the policy evaluation can be found here.
