This study – done by MetaMeta and Socioconsult – is an evaluation of the functioning and sustainability of farmers’ led water management organisations in the polders of Bangladesh. It looked at three Dutch-funded development programmes in the coastal zone in Bangladesh: the Blue Gold programme, the Southwest Area Integrated Water Resources Planning and Management project and the Char Development and Settlement project. This study forms a building block for the IOB evaluation, in particular the analysis of the Blue Gold programme and the sustainability of institutional support for water management in general.
